CycloVac's Perfect Partner: The Brokk 70 Vacuum Excavator
The addition of the CycloVac Pro is part of our ongoing investment in our modern fleet and state-of-the art equipment, and comes just after we announced the arrival of the innovative Brokk 70 Robotic Vacuum Excavator.
Our Brokk, the first of its spec in mainland UK, is maximum power in compact form; a remote-controlled, no-dig, electric vacuum excavator.
Working side-by-side, the CycloVac Pro and Brokk form the perfect high-performing partnership, tackling waste and debris removal jobs with ease – even in tight, hazardous or hard-to-access areas.
And the good news? They’re both here at Merkland Tank, ready for your next project.
CYCLOVAC PROJECTS
Below are some recent CycloVac projects carried out by Merkland Tank.
WET MATERIALS
Wastewater Sand Filter Clean
The project required the removal of 150m3 of filter material from 2 no. tanks used as one of the final stages in the waste water treatment process prior to discharge.
Our experienced team utilised our heavy-duty CycloVac to remove the bulk material, carry out High Pressure Jetting of over 7,000 nozzle heads, and clean the inlet channels of foliage and other unwanted organic material to ensure continued smooth and efficient operations onsite.
Emergency Spill Response
We recently helped one of our facilities management clients clear a water-logged, City Centre basement lift shift using our high-performance CycloVac.
The high-suction vacuum tanker was able to pump and remove the floodwater quickly and efficiently to clear the basement and minimise further damage.
DRY MATERIALS
Flour Silo Cleaning
One of our food sector projects required the capabilities of our ever-performing, heavy-duty CycloVac to empty and clean our client’s flour silo to prevent contamination and unwanted build-up of flour dust.
Although the majority of product had already been emptied, we used the high-suction CycloVac to remove around 4 tonnes of residual flour before brushing down the interior walls and surfaces.
Grain Silo Transfer
Our team were pleased to recently provide a rapid response service to one of our distillery clients, who needed our help to transfer almost 500 tonnes of grain between two jumbo silos that feed into multiple distilleries.
Using the skills of our confined space trained team, alongside the heavy duty suction capabilities of our CycloVac Vacuum Tanker, the job was completed in a timeframe that exceeded our customers’ expectations and allowed them to continue operations.
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
Wood Chip & Dust Silo Transfer
Our team were tasked with transferring 200 tonnes of wood chip and dust from one silo to another, to allow for essential maintenance works to take place on the first silo.
We emptied the silo by manual transfer to the storage area, where our powerful, high suction CycloVac – ideally suited to handling dry, hazardous substances – could then take the strain and show off its exceptional suction capabilities.
Due to the high-risk and combustible nature of wood chip and dust, our highly-trained confined space operatives were kitted out in all the required personal protective equipment (PPE), including face respirators.
