Ultra-High Pressure (UHP) Water Jetting
Merkland Tank offers an exceptional Ultra-High Pressure (UHP) Water Jetting service with pressure up to 40,000 psi.
Our UHP cleaning services are ideally suited for the effective removal of coatings and other stubborn surfaces without damaging the structure itself.
Recognised as one of the most powerful, effective and environmentally-friendly methods of industrial cleaning and pressure washing, UHP is widely used for surface preparation as an alternative to shot blasting.
The hazardous nature of high-pressure water jetting requires a comprehensive understanding of equipment and safety protocols.
That’s why our UHP jetting teams are fully trained to the standards set out by the Water Jetting Association, and fully protected using the latest high-performance protective clothing (we use TST suits from Sweden), specially adapted visors and bespoke water jetting boots, to ensure safe working at all times.

Automated Technology

This includes the small but mighty Brokk 70 vacuum excavator, the state-of-the-art MagTrack robotic crawler for closed waterblasting and surface preparation, and the Sentinel and Compass systems for fully automated and semi-automated heat exchanger tube bundle cleaning.

Dry Ice Blasting
Merkland Tank’s Dry Ice Blasting solution is a safe, effective and more environmentally friendly alternative for surface preparation works, than commonly used traditional cleaning methods, such as shot blasting.
Unlike shot blasting, which uses small, high-velocity particles like steel shot or grit to remove surface coatings, Dry Ice Blasting – as the name suggests – uses solid, dry ice pellets made from liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) to effectively remove coatings and other stubborn surfaces without damaging the structure itself. Upon impact, the dry ice pellets evaporate, leaving only the removed contaminants behind.
This waterless, chemical-free and non-abrasive solution eliminates the need for water storage, produces no secondary waste and significantly reduces downtime, with equipment typically able to be cleaned while in operation.
Boiler & Heat Exchanger Maintenance

Interceptor Cleaning Services

An accumulation of leaves, silt and debris after recent periods of heavy rain can lead to potential blockages, flooding or overfill. There’s also a risk your business might face significant fines for non-compliance with pollution prevention regulations.
Our interceptor service includes emptying and cleaning, as well as performing a visual inspection after cleaning. This ensures the effective removal of oils, debris, and pollutants from your drainage systems, helping to prevent blockages and environmental damage.
In line with industry standard SFG20 (Schedule 48-03), separators must:
- Be serviced and maintained on a minimum 6-monthly basis
- Be subject to a maximum interval of a 5-yearly integrity test
