Spotlight on… Supporting the renewables sector
Our new CycloVac Pro Skytipper has been straight to work supporting one of our valued clients in the renewables sector, who required two carbon tanks and two filter stacks to be emptied prior to decommissioning, as part of a major site upgrade and expansion project.
Our team first removed the unused carbon from one of the redundant scrubbers, utilising the suction power of the CycloVac Pro, with the waste easily discharged and bagged into 1.5m3 EU bags using the unit’s 45-degree hydraulic hi-tipping capabilities and bagging attachment.
The team then continued to remove the remaining 9 tonnes (18m3) of carbon media from the two tanks for safe onward disposal (the carbon is used as part of an upgrader system to remove odours, emissions and impurities from the biogas before it’s fed into the National Grid).
Finally, we removed nearly 40 tonnes of contaminated filter media from the redundant upgrader stacks and packaged for onward transport to a SEPA-licensed facility.
