Merkland Completes Heavy Duty Bitumen Removal Task with Ease
We have extensive experience in cleaning the most challenging and stubborn tanks including bitumen, HFO, sewage, and hazardous fuels and chemicals.
We were recently tasked with removing an estimated 60 tonnes of cooled bitumen from a customer’s tank. Using powerful air breakers, our team successfully removed and safely disposed of what was, in the end, 110 tonnes!
The tank was then thoroughly cleaned using ultra-high jetting equipment to allow for inspection, during which we provided confined space emergency rescue standby support.
We’ve since provided further on-site support to clean around the tank and remove redundant pipework.
