Tackling the Toughest of Tanks: Confined Space Chemical Tank Cleaning
Earlier this month, we completed a tough tank clean for one of our chemical manufacturing clients, which saw us successfully remove approx. 18 tonnes of resin from their onsite reactor, to ensure the equipment is kept in optimal condition.
High-Pressure Water Jetting was first carried out via the top access hatch to remove the bulk of the hard waste, before our experienced confined space operatives entered the tank through the elevated bottom manway to remove the remaining build-up.
Due to the presence of toxic and flammable gases, our team implemented enhanced safety measures during this project; our operatives wore full PPE, including TST protective suits and self-contained breathing apparatus, plus we had our Confined Space Emergency Rescue Team (ERT) on standby to ensure safe working at all times.
