Merkland Given Green Light on AD Plant Project
Our new high-performance Müller Recycler has been invaluable during a recent AD Plant tank clean – Phase 1 of a planned maintenance schedule at the renewable energy site on the west coast of Scotland.
On site, waste by-product from the nearby distillery is processed through ten digesters to generate renewable energy for the AD plant, distillery and back to the national grid. Any residual waste that can’t be digested must be removed to avoid build-up of unwanted materials, which can severely reduce biogas yield.
As specialists in AD Plant Cleaning, Merkland Tank removed over 200 tonnes of residual waste before carrying out a full internal clean of the digester space. Our fully trained, confined space emergency rescue team used the latest in breathing apparatus technology to ensure safety at all times.
