Müller makes light work of heavy sludge removal!
We recently successfully removed over 100 tonnes of sludge from our wastewater client’s thickener tank – thanks to the powerful suction capabilities of our Müller F160 Recycler.
Our team were required to remove the semi-solid sludge, a by-product of the wastewater treatment process, from the 20m diameter tank before pressure washing the interior to remove any residual waste. The sludge was then reprocessed onsite.
The work was part of a planned maintenance programme to allow third-party inspection and overhaul of the tank.
Our specially-trained emergency rescue team, led by Merkland’s confined space operator Frank McGartland, provided ERT support across the 3-week project, carrying out continuous air monitoring and managing the ventilation system for the team of inspectors on site. A great effort from everyone involved!
